Inspirations: Sparkle for NYE

Can you believe it's almost 2012? In the midst of studying for my CPA exam, it suddenly occurred to me that I have not yet picked out my outfit for NYE. While mindlessly browsing for options, I thought it would be fun to pretend that I didn't have a budget and pick out a couple of pieces that would then become my dream NYE outfit. Ta-da, here it is.

What's your dream NYE outfit?

Lookbook: Reminiscing Those Sunny Days

Winter is here but Southern California doesn't seem to get any colder. Too bad it's going to be gloomy and cold when I travel back to San Francisco.

I took these pictures a while back when I revisited LACMA while on vacation. It's such a wonderful place to go for inspirations of art and literature, they recently presented a Tim Burton exhibition, I'm now dying to visit their Chinese Art exhibition.

Lookbook: Dusty Pink and Rose Gold

I am so excited to share my new La Mer purchase! I've always been obsessed with La Mer pieces, they work as a wrap bracelet and a watch. When I saw this one, adorned with Swarovski crystals and rose gold chains, I had to have it.

Isn't it just so beautiful? I hope you enjoyed your holiday, I sure enjoyed mine. It was good being able to spend time with family, not to mention the weather - it was 70s in Southern California! Even though it was hot, I decided to wear this dusty pink scarf that my mom knitted me for Christmas - my dad even told me that my mom spent approximately three weeks knitting this for me everyday after work, so cute.

I hope you are enjoying your time off still, or are looking forward to the New Years!
Until next time.

Winter's Charm

Merry Christmas, Blogger!

Eating Out: Have You Met Xiao Long Bao?

Xiao Long Bao, more widely known as XLB or small shrimp buns (dumplings) originated from Eastern China. These babies are made with pork and wrapped in partially raised flour so that the skin is soft and somewhat translucent. The last time I had Xiao Long Bao was in China about two years ago, and when I discovered Din Tai Fung in Arcadia, California, it became my go-to spot when I crave food from home.

After I landed in Southern California on Thursday night after a very turbulent flight due to the Santa Ana wind, I woke up on Friday and headed straight to Arcadia.

We arrived at DTF at around 11:45 am, merely 45 minutes after opening. The wait for a party of two was already 20 minutes.

"Xiao Cai." Literally means "little dish/vegetable." Made with sea weed, dried bean curd and sprout.
These came out five minutes after we sat down and ordered.

Delicious soup filled inside the dumplings.

I hope you are enjoying your holidays. It's 70s in Southern California right now, we sure won't get a White Christmas here, but hey - I'm not complaining.

Tuesday Night Cravings: La Mer Crystal and Leather Wrap Watch

I've been eyeing for another pair of casual watch for a long time. The Movado watch I wear for work gets a little cold in this chilly San Francisco weather, and my MK one is a tad too big to wear to work.

This one is just perfect, can't wait for it to arrive in the mail!
